Principal Chamekia Fields leads the Merlins at McNeill Elementary School. She has 22 years of experience in education, including 11 years in Lamar CISD. Mrs. Fields has served as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal throughout her career. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and her master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston and is passionate about creating a positive learning environment where students, staff, and families work together to help every child succeed. Mrs. Fields and her husband are proud parents of three daughters. Two are Lamar CISD graduates, and they are excited to cheer on their youngest daughter—a future Tomas Gator! Mrs. Fields is honored to serve the McNeill community and is committed to fostering excellence, meaningful relationships, and a little McNeill Magic every day.
